“Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way to live.” —Gianni Versace

Of all the things I thought I would write about, I never dreamed I would be writing about fashion (or maybe lack of it). But about two weeks ago my sister convinced me to start up emmas_happy-wardrobe to show my daily looks! Not sure anyone but my sister is actually going to be interested but I have started to really enjoy it. I would describe my style as unsupervised 5 year old so the page is pretty damn colourful! Also I figured if I am already posting on Instagram I should really post on here! I rarely buy anything new or I should say full price. My normal buying is sale items and charity shops which makes dressing up and putting pieces together way more fun. So sorry if this isn’t your thing, you can skip this post if you like!

So after saying I rarely buy new the next two looks are both new!! I must have been feeling rich! The blue dress is from F&F at Tesco, I am a sucker for supermarket clothing and F&F is by far my favourite! One thing I love about supermarket clothing is the sizing is pretty standard unlike the high street, I am a size 12/14 mostly and I never have to try on when I buy from F&F. Absolutely love this dress, perfect for the beach with flat sandals, I have also dressed it up with heels and a denim jacket for a date!

Second outfit, the whole look is from F&F at Tesco with the shoes being in the boxing day sale at Next! Can’t go wrong with a denim jacket! Everyone should have one for spring/summer and start of autumn. This skirt I have worn a million different ways! The look above for was a Friday night out, easy to add nude heels with! Swap the jacket for a black leather one with black heels and you have a date look! I wear this skirt, flats and a black fitted jumper to work! Come winter I will add tights and black boots, the yellow will be perfect through autumn/winter! I will be wearing this look for years yet so not bothered about buying it new!

Third look, all my sunglasses I get from Primark because I lose, break, sit on sunglasses and don’t want to be replacing expensive ones. But in all honestly I have some Primark sunglasses that I have had for ten years or so, I know people complain about Primark but actually if you look after items they do last. I have a pair of Primark Jeans that I got 18 years ago!! Back to this look! T’shirt is Marks and Spencer’s, up until very recently I have been very self conscious of wearing any top that stuck to me, worried about having too big of a waist! Too wide of a back etc, I am fully embracing my body at the moment so t’shirts are a must for me at the moment! Skirt was actually £1.50 from a charity shop and I am 6ft this skirt is the most perfect length!

Fourth Outfit! Primark sunnies, t’shirt and skirt! The leather jacket is a couple of years old from Dorthy Perkins. I am big into pleated, knee length skirts at the moment! I will wear this look all year look! In this picture I wore it to work but with heels I will wear it on a night out, again black boots in the winter and its a year long look!

Fifth look, So cardigan is Primark, over-sized chunky knit! Perfect for the colder mornings/evenings to throw over a summer dress! The dress I got from TU at Sainsburys in the January sales for £7 (I think) because I don’t follow trends I love shopping the end of season items because with a little imagination you can rework anything! This is one of my fave summer looks!

Sixth look, Denim jacket from earlier! This sandals though!! I got a couple of weeks ago from F&F, guys they are amazing, I love them! Buy them, super comfy, perfect for summer! This dress I have had for about 5 maybe 6 years now, I bought it from Peacocks in a sale for less then a tenner and its still going strong!

Seventh outfit! And last look for this week! Starting to think I have a lot of clothes!! Denim jacket as above! (A denim jacket is a great summer investment as you can tell!) Long sleeved top is Marks and Spencer’s, they have wonderful classic wardrobe pieces and actually I would say there T’shirts are the cheapest on the high street! Skirt is another charity shop find! One thing about pleated knee length skirts is that everyone’s grandmother wore/wears them so charity shops are full of them! And the best thing about these skirts is that they usually have pockets or cute button details. This skirt at pretty buttons going down each side!
