80 DAYS OF SUMMER – DAY 65

80 DAYS OF SUMMER – DAY 65

“A healthy friendship is one where you share your true feelings without fearing the end of the relationship. It’s also one where you sometimes have to let things that bug you slide. The tough moments will make you wiser about yourself and each other. They will also make you stronger and closer as friends.” Rachel Simmons

If you have no idea what 80 days of summer is all about, then where have you been!? Don’t worry you can catch up here. But basically for 80 days, I am going to make sure I do something every single day that makes the most of summer, some things will be new some won’t. This challenge is to show that life is really made for living, no excuses, no wasting days! Just happiness every single day.

Me and Anna have spent the summer discovering new beaches in Wales and it has been utterly amazing I love being by the sea with Anna she is such a beautiful soul that she makes the whole experience much much better. A couple of weekends ago we decided to have one last beach trip together this year. Don’t worry are still friends but once Autumn sets in we are going to switch to hiking in Wales instead of beaches.

We decided to head to Barmouth a two and a half hour drive from home but a beach neither of us have ever visited. I have been recommended it a couple of times now and thought it was worth the drive, however now I have been, not sure it is! Probably my least favourite beach that I have visited this year. Harlech is still my favourite and only 11 miles from Barmouth.

“I love going to the beach and swimming in the ocean. I think it’s so relaxing. It’s also a great form of active recovery. It’s perfect for those rest days when you still want to move a little bit”. Eugenie Bouchard

I have spent the entire summer laughing so hard, I am not sure there is a single picture of me that isn’t mid-laugh which would be fine if it wasn’t for the fact I suffer from ugly laugh face. Luckily you can’t see my face in this picture, instead, it looks like I am plane spotting. Also, can we talk about my £8 outfit, I bloody love it! The skirt was £5 in the latest Primark sale and I got the t-shirt for £3 in another sale. If you don’t know who Thelma is we can’t be friends!

12 months ago there would have no way I would have posted this picture, I would have looked at my chunky thighs and rounded tummy and deleted the picture from my phone. It’s amazing what a positive attitude towards your body has. This is the biggest I have been in a few years and in the past I would have punished myself for getting so big, yes I am carrying a little extra weight but for Christ sake, I am size 12 and that’s not overweight. Could I be healthier, absolutely but health doesn’t come from numbers on scales it comes from eating right and moving your body. More than anything I would just like my bingo wings to do one, more than anything I am seeing my age in my body now.

The sea was bloody freezing but I went all the way in, feel like I have spent the whole summer literally washing my problems away in the sea. I am praying for an Indian summer so I can get a couple more sea swims in before the end of the year!

“My friends and family are my support system. They tell me what I need to hear, not what I want to hear and they are there for me in the good and bad times. Without them I have no idea where I would be and I know that their love for me is what’s keeping my head above the water.” Kelly Clarkson
