I am not sure how this happened but somehow I managed to get to 32 years old without ever visiting a Lush store, I know, I know it’s shocking. My names Emma and I live under a rock! I am either sleeping, working or bathing so how I managed to live my life without lush in it, is absolutely beyond me. As an early birthday present to myself I decided to go treat myself with some lush goodies. I visited my local store which happens to be in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, now I must have been looking a bit confused because the absolutely loveliest of shop assistants came over to me and offered me all the help I could possibly need with the warmest of smiles by the end of it I wanted to take her home too. I must have spent two hours in the store smelling and touching each product before picking my favourites to share with you. I will definitely be doing more lush blog posts but for now I have picked my favourite bath bombs ( after all its my first time and thought I should start with the basics ). I swear I already want to go back to just hang out with the lovely staff.
Sex bomb // By far my absolute favourite, ” When you’ve got that feeling – tired, stressed out and anxious – you need some sensual healing. The fragrant blend of jasmine, ylang ylang and clary sage will soon have you relaxed and feeling in the mood… Jasmine is an ancient aphrodisiac, used as a sensual perfume in India for centuries and in aromatherapy to ease stress and anxiety. Clary sage clears the mind, while ylang ylang is renowned for soothing worries.” Not sure whether it got me more in the mood for sexy time or not because honestly after a long hot bath all I want to do is get cosy and wrapped up in a blanket. The scent is my favourite, probably because it smells so sweet and it is the prettiest of pinks.
A French kiss // “Treat your skin to the soft herbal kisses of this fresh rosemary and lavender bubble bath. Crumble under running water for a paradisaical bath full of the lavender and rosemary scents of Southern France. Relax as your troubles bubble away and extra virgin coconut oils softens your skin.” When it comes to bedtime I am all about lavender, I light lavender candles, spray my bed sheets in a lavender sleep spray and get cosy with a book. The rosemary balances out the lavender to give it a more modern scent rather than the smell of our grannies ( which I actually miss ).
Mistletoe // ” Don’t get caught under the mistletoe this Christmas; pop it straight in the bath and leap in! A dizzyingly romantic, sweet-as-kisses bundle of heady jasmine and sultry vetivert begin your festive romance. As floral layers of colour fizz away they conjure up a nostalgic fairy tale fragrance that’s sure to sweep you off your feet. ” This was my favourite when I came to dropping it into the water and watching the water turn into the prettiest of colours, what i imagine unicorn dreams to look like. Not my favourite scent, slightly to floral for me.
Green bubbleroon // This is super cute and was perfect for an early morning bath as the lime scent is super refreshing. This macaroon-inspired bubble bar promised to take me straight back to summer time, along with homemade lemonade and picnic blankets… who could resist?! In all seriousness, this bubble bar smells wonderful. Fresh, clean and uplifting. It’s based on freshly cut grass and orange flower and leaves your bath water a pleasant pastel green. It is also enriched with Coconut Oil and Shea Butter, so it leaves your bath feeling silky and your skin feeling nourished.
Avobath // ” Avobath in the morning to help you face the day: its lemongrass and bergamot oils will pick you up while also tackling dryness with avocado and olive oil. It contains lustre, which gives a shimmering green effect to the water, but will leave your skin feeling dazzling without the dazzle. It also contains lots of mashed avocado and olive oil to tackle dehydration, making this an excellent choice for dry skin sufferers. ” The avocado and olive oil in this means its fabulous for dry skin as it will help sooth it, this is perfect for someone like me, who is quite prone to dry skin and eczema in the winter months so I can see me stocking up on these to keep me going through the winter. It defiantly gave my skin with some extra moisture which I guess is the aim of this bath bomb as all the ingredients in it point towards that. I left the bath feeling revitalized and my skin feeling hydrated.
Butterbear // This cute little bear was so creamy and left my skin super soft and smelling of sweet vanilla. So apparently I can get this all year round in the form of butterball but for me it’s all about the fact that it looks like a cute bear. Although my skin felt lovely and soft I didn’t love the scent enough to buy it again.
