Our beautiful boy Dave turned four over the weekend ( how beautiful does he look in this picture ). Jamie has had Dave since he was a tiny six week old fluff ball and I’ve been his mummy for a year now. I wanted to celebrate Dave’s birthday with a special dog friendly homemade birthday cake because, well he’s cute and totally worth it.
My two beautiful boys looking very handsome indeed. I am certainly one very lucky girlie.
I wanted to get a cute picture of Dave and his cake unfortunately he dived into it faster than his daddy does, chocolate cake. We ended up chasing him around the house trying to get him to pace himself with it.
Here is the super easy recipe for the cake, I tried to find one that had the most natural ingredients in it.
125g Peanut butter
125ml Vegetable oil
1tsp Vanilla extract
250g Grated carrot
260g Wholemeal flour
2tsp Bicarbonate of soda
Preheat your oven to 175c/350f/gas mark 4, grease and line a 900lb loaf tin.
In a large bowl mix the eggs, peanut butter, oil and vanilla extract, then stir in the carrots.
Add the bicarbonate soda and wholesale flour to the mixture and fold together.
Spoon the mixture into your lined cake tin and bake for 30-40 minutes.
Remove and leave to cool. Once cooled you can decorate with your dog’s favourite treats.
Peanut butter and carrot cake yummy for your best friend, if you make your own dog treats or have a favourite dog friendly recipe please let me know in the comments below and feel free to tag me on instagram or Twitter.
