This year was mine and Jamie’s first Christmas as a couple so in the spirit of love we wanted to make December as magical as possible and start a few Christmas traditions for the future. We squeezed in dinners, lunches and drinks with family and friends, picked a Christmas tree, did all are gift shopping together and even baked together. Most importantly we had a Christmas engagement, Christmas now holds a special place in my heart. I definitely think this has been the best Christmas I have experienced and am already planning for a bigger, better one next year.
One tradition that we will be continuing is visiting a Christmas tree farm and spending hours deciding which tree just needs some extra special love. We also got engaged here so it holds such a special place in my heart and will remind of every year of our engagement.
There has been some serious treats eaten during December, I don’t think I will ever eat chocolate again ( or at least til Easter ) Although one have been pretty good with getting some extra hours in the gym.
We started a Christmas baking and icing tradition together, you can read about our baking date night here . And naturally we had to eat them, maybe next year we will do them as gifts ( after some much needed practice ).
We had some lovely days out in the British countryside and discovered some Christmas traditions of years gone by. My favourite Christmas was most definitely the medieval Christmas I experienced at Chirk castle, take a peek here .
I really could not have had a better December, absolutely everything was perfect we had late night strolls through light lined streets, Christmas movie nights and Christmas market trips. There isn’t a day when I don’t think I have the best life and this month has really shown just how lucky I truly am.
I am definitely going to make the most out of the last few days of Christmas and pack in as much fun as humanly possible ready for what I’m hoping is going to be a fabulous 2016.
How did you celebrate Christmas? And did you start some Christmas traditions of your own?
