Still making the most of this beautiful Autumn sunshine Britain is experiencing, and always happy to spend a couple of free hours exploring somewhere new I jumped in my car and headed into the countryside. Armed with the national trust app I’ve just downloaded, and absolutely love it, it’s tells you what national trust sites you are near and what’s on there, very useful if you have a couple of free hours or are in a new area.
Little Moreton hall is a stunningly beautiful tudor manor house with over 500 years of history. Lucky for me I arrived at just the right time with the stunning low Autumn light giving the house a beautiful golden halo. As I was admiring the house bathed in the golden light the friendliest member of staff I have ever encountered informed me that a free guided tour was about to begin.
There was actors dressed in costumes of the time, performing chores they would have done 500 years ago. The tour was really very sweet, my guide was extremely informative and more than willing to answer all the questions which were thrown at him. It was clear to see that everybody that worked there was passionate about the building and its history.
