More happy little things in October

6tag_311015-101836Part two of all the wonderful little things that made me happy in October you can have a peek at part one here . And remember it only takes a tiny little thing every day to change your world.

2015-10-31_16.37.20Dave makes me so incredibly happy, I mean look at that face! I’m not going to lie looking after a border collie is a lot of hard work and not for the faint hearted ( they need hours of exercise and lots of outdoor space ). I couldn’t imagine my life without Dave in it drooling over everything.

Cake! Enough said!

Getting my nails done, in the last 12 months I’ve become absolutely obsessed with my nails. Although I get a LOT of negative comments about them, I love them and Dave loves them too. Due to there length I get them done every ten days, which gives me a couple of hours to unwind without a phone in my hand on a regular basis.

Eating healthy, I have to make a big effort not to turn to comfort food once the nights start getting dark early. With Halloween, bonfire night and Christmas all close by I have to eat healthy more than I do in the summer or else once spring comes round I’ve gained 50lbs and I’m miserable. Luckily for me I enjoy eating healthy and am a firm believer in you are what you eat.

2015-10-31_16.44.53I never ever get tired of autumn, it’s by far the most beautiful season and my personal favourite. There is something magical about wrapping up warm and going for long strolls kicking leaves of every colour through the air. Even the lighting is magical with the world having a beautiful golden tint.

Chocolate instantly makes everything better!

Pumpkins, Halloween is my favourite holiday with Christmas being a close second, for me Halloween takes as much preparation as Christmas so as soon as I see my first pumpkin it’s time to start carving.

Cuddles with my boy, all day long this makes me the happiest girl in the world.

2015-10-31_17.16.16Eggs and avocados, if I had to live off one meal for the rest of my life, this would be it.

Me and Jamie walk Dave for about four hours a day which gives us plenty of time to catch up on our day and just chat without any phones, emails or the tv going while at the same time being surrounded by beautiful countryside, pure bliss.

On a walk I spotted these little beauties which instantly reminded me of my summer in America and learning about all the different mushrooms you can find on the forest floor and eat. If you missed it you can check it out here

Jamie reaching his goals makes me so happy, it’s an amazing feeling watching someone you love accomplish their dreams. Jamie caught this beautiful carp, which he has been after all season as soon as he had done it he rang me lake side happier than I’ve ever heard him. It was truly like all his Christmases had come at once.

2015-10-31_16.33.51Pink sky in the morning, shepherd’s warning. A few days ago I saw the most incredible sunrise ever, it made my entire house glow a beautiful pink colour. I stood and enjoyed it with a hot cup of coffee while the rest of the world slept.

I’ve been writing my blog now for three months and I’m having such a incredibly wonderful time doing it, I’ve met some lovely people along the way. I wrote a post about body image a couple of days ago, a subject which is extremely close to my heart and I believe my best post yet, if you missed it you can take a peek at it here

Pumpkin carving, I’ve really noticed in the last couple of years just how big Halloween has got in England ( which suits me just fine ) now when I was a child no carved pumpkins and your costume was always made from a bin bag. So now I feel like I’ve got a lot of catching up to do, me and Jamie practically spent the whole last week of October in a pumpkin carving competition with each other.

Halloween, any day you can dress up in fancy dress is a happy day.

What do you do on a daily basis that makes you happy???
